Barbara Ann Corcoran

 Barbara Ann Corcoran is an American businesswoman from America. The Corcoran Group, an NY-based real estate broker, was founded by Corcoran. NRT bought it in 2001 for $66 million. Corcoran later left the business. Corcoran was one of ABC's original Shark investors was a featured guest of every episode of Shark Tank. In February of 2020, Corcoran had made 53 deals, the biggest being a $350,000 deal that was able to cover 40% of Coverplay. Corcoran was born in Edgewater, New Jersey, the second of 10 children in a working class Irish-Catholic family. Florence, her mother, was an excellent homemaker. Edwin W. Corcoran Jr. was her father. He moved between jobs and another throughout Corcoran's youth. Her family frequently depended on food delivery services for free from a local grocer. Corcoran remembers her father, a man who sometimes drank too much and behaved towards her mother disrespectfully and condescendingly, especially after he'd had a few drinks. Corcoran struggled throughout her schooling and later discovered that she had dyslexia. Corcoran began the high school system at St. Cecilia High School Englewood after she had left her Catholic elementary school. Corcoran was proficient in several classes during her freshman year. She transferred to Leonia High School and graduated with a D.
